Bangalore Film Forum is thrilled to present "Fresh Cuts", a series celebrating the very best of Contemporary Indian Cinema from a new generation of filmmakers !
Bangalore Film Forum is excited to present Fresh Cuts. A new series focussing on the bold and fiercely independent work of a new generation of Indian filmmakers.
These are films made outside the system. Shot on phones, borrowed DSLRs, sometimes on the street or in a one-room apartments in cities and small towns. Made with friends, family, whoever’s around. What they may lack in budget, they more than make up for in urgency, honesty, and heart.
Fresh Cuts brings together a group of films that look closely at contemporary India, often from the point of view of young people trying to make sense of the world around them. They look at love, friendship, family, work, and art. Many of these films lean into realism and neorealist aesthetics, capturing life as it unfolds: intimate, messy, unpredictable.
This is work you might not see in the cinemas or major festivals, but it deserves to be seen, shared, and talked about. Fresh Cuts is about creating space for films that break the rules, and for filmmakers just beginning to find their voice.
We are showing 6 films across 4 days over the next two weekends. You can purchase a series pass at a discounted price or get passes for individual films.
